Join Chris Kirmaier, Ph.D. for a photographic journey into the fascinating, beautiful, and weird world of photosynthetic life. Zooming down into a leaf, we’ll find the solar energy engine that powers the abundance of life on earth. Almost all living things on earth depend on photosynthesis for their food and/or energy resources. From small to large, the variety of photosynthetic life is just plain amazing.

This entire talk is in PowerPoint.

About the speaker: Chris Kirmaier, Ph.D. is a Research Professor of Chemistry at Washington University. Photosynthesis has been her major research focus for the last thirty-five years. In 2007 she became a Master Gardener. She was thrilled in 2014 to begin volunteering as a habitat advisor with St. Louis Audubon’s Bring Conservation Home program.

Note: Our meetings are open to the public. We hope you’ll join us!
